Blue Ocean Consulting’s recent revenue growth has created such a buzz, that last week Thinking Bigger Business Media featured a story about it. The article, written by James Hart, discusses the role that relocating the business has played in generating Blue Ocean Consulting’s growth.
Last year, Blue Ocean Consulting saw a 35 percent increase in revenue compared to 2014, a growth “that any small business would envy”, Hart wrote in the article.
The growth is in part credited to the company’s move from Lawrence, Kan. to Olathe, Kan. four years ago. The relocation allowed for easier recruiting, making the business grow from eight or nine people to about 30.
“Lawrence isn’t that far away, but it’s almost like there was a psychological barrier for people who were considering Blue Ocean, either as a vendor or an employer,” Scott Woodward, one of the co-founders of Blue Ocean Consulting, said in the article.
Besides finding some amazing talent including some high-profile hires like Scott Carson, Blue Ocean Consulting’s president and former vice president of business development for Kauffman FastTrac, being closer to clients and prospects also added to the growth. By relocating near the Kansas City metro area, Blue Ocean Consulting was able to take on many more projects.
Thank you, James, for writing such a great article.
